"New Female Filmmakers Workshop"

"Okaeri" is selected to participate with 11 other projects in the Feature Film Development Workshop organized by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture.

The Ministry of Culture of Peru, through the Directorate of Audiovisual, Phonography and New Media (DAFO), organized a new edition of the “Feature Film Project Workshop” as part of the Conecta Service. This edition was exclusively aimed at Peruvian women filmmakers.

The workshop’s objective was to strengthen the creative, narrative, and technical capacities of screenwriters and directors working on fiction feature film projects. Participants received personalized guidance and took part in intensive working sessions led by renowned filmmakers with extensive experience in screenwriting and film directing, including Rossana Díaz Costa (A World for Julius, Journey to Timbuktu), Ana Caridad Sánchez (Dry Delicious Fruit), and Miguel Barreda (Out of Sight, Chained).

This edition selected 12 projects by women directors and screenwriters—10 from the Lima region and 2 from the Cusco region. All participants received the training virtually, from November 25 to December 16, 2022.
